IT Organization

IT at URI consists of two cooperative groups of professionals: the central, shared organization commonly referred to as ITS and the professional partners reporting to other units within the University. An approximately equal number of staff serve in these two capacities, together totaling approximately 160 individuals.

IT Strategy

IT work at URI is guided by our strategic plan. The plan, originally developed in 2017, has been extended through 2024 as the University searches for a new President and continues to deal with the COVID-19 crisis.

IT Governance

The work of IT is guided through the ITGov group. Established in 2015, the group charter was revised in early 2020 to form an umbrella organization for multiple IT constituencies and interest groups.
